Zovirax is used to reduce the relapse or spread of herpes diseases, skin and lip reactions, diseases of the skin the private parts, and chicken pox. Although Zovirax does not cure some infectious disorders, yet it does manage to prevent the virus from spreading.
Dosage and direction
Zovirax should be consumed orally. Ideally, 200 mg should be consumed five times a day, for ten days. In case herpes recurs then adults can consume 400 mg of Zovirax twice a day for around a year.
To prevent the infection from spreading, we recommend washing hands regularly. Always consume medicine after consulting your doctor.
Never touch your eyes in case you have touched the infection. Do not let others come in contact with the infected area.
Patients suffering from kidney and liver disorders should abstain from consuming Zovirax.
Pregnant or lactating ladies should not consume Zovirax.
Side effects may cause hives, breathlessness, swelling of the face, lower back pain, reduced urine, bleeding, fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, stomach ache, headache, giddiness, and other similar symptoms.
In case you notice any of these symptoms, then you need to discontinue Zovirax and seek medical assistance immediately.
Zovirax interacts with probenecid Tizanidine, Varicella Virus Vaccine, Fosphenytoin, Phenytoin, and Valproic Acid.
In case you skip a dose, you can consume it as soon as you remember. However, it is close to the time of your next dose, you can skip it and revert to your regular schedule. Never consume a double dose.
Overdose may trigger seizures, hallucinations, and restrictive urination. In case you notice any such symptom, you need to seek medical assistance immediately.
Zovirax should be stored at room temperature between 59-77 degrees F far from the reach of pets and children. Never keep it in places that are moist and bright. Never store in the bathroom. Never use any medicine after the expiry date.
